‘Water first’ is what any burns unit will tell you. For most – though not all – types of burns, water is the first response. The same goes for all things growing and blossoming. When planting a young rose crop, water is a bare necessity; the rest can wait. Not for too long, but it can wait. I love water. Water is good for everything, not only for plants but also for people. I drink at least 2 or 3 litres of water every day.
Water is becoming a bit of a problem, however. Not just here in China, but across the globe. China faced extreme drought in 2022. This year was a bit wetter, but not by much. This has great impact on just about everything. Reservoirs are becoming ever emptier, which is a problem for us, since we get our water for watering from one such reservoir.
At the same time, it is also a big problem for the country as a whole and for people around the world. At low water levels, hydropower plants produce a lot less energy, there is less water for the food industry, and so on.
