22 years after an intellectual property infringement by Trocobel, Container Centralen (CC) has received a compensation of more than EUR 1 million, covering a substantial part of its claim. Meanwhile CC has other lawsuits pending.
In 2001, Trocobel NV was found to have infringed on Container Centralen's intellectual property. The infringement involved the illegal counterfeiting of metal plates and locks attached to CC Containers for authentication purposes.
In 2009, Trocobel NV and persons associated with the company were convicted, and CC was subsequently awarded a compensation of EUR 1.7 million by a Belgian court for damages suffered. This ruling was upheld on appeal in 2011.
