This week, Deroose has started production activities at a new state-of-the-art greenhouse facility in Songjiang, Shanghai. A total of 20,000 m2 (215.000 sqft) will be used for the production of young plants for fruit crops.
The new facility complements Deroose’s existing production sites in Lingang and Langxia, which include tissue culture laboratories and greenhouse facilities. Growing demand for high-quality young plants, together with close collaboration with global partners, has supported this further expansion of Deroose’s activities in China.
The glass greenhouses are well equipped with systems such as an ebb-and-flood container system, pad-and-fan cooling, heating and indoor and outdoor screening. “This is an important new step for Deroose in China and demonstrates our continued commitment to the development of the fruit sector in China,” says Lucas Vanhaelewyn, Managing Director, Deroose China.
