Spring has arrived. It always starts rather early in the year here in China. Where it tends to have a bit of a slow start, spring has burst forth in full force now. It is the most beautiful time of the year, for our crops as well as for me personally. At this time of year, it is not too hot yet, mornings are still delightfully cool, the sky is blue and temperatures are mild.
Great weather for growing roses. And, let’s be honest, isn’t that the best thing in the world? Roses don’t grow all by themselves though; as always, they require 200% commitment and effort. After all, spring is also the time when all those nasty bugs wake up from their winter sleep, and they are always early birds.
It means we must beware that our top product isn’t ruined by sucking and gnawing insects. This requires paying close attention and keeping our scouts sharp. After all, you can’t check 70 hectares with just your own eyes.
