As part of nationwide auctioning, Royal FloraHolland will be merging its five rose clocks in Naaldwijk and Aalsmeer into four central clocks in the second half of this year. The merger of the Rijnsburg rose clocks will be decided later.
The auction previously moved cut anthuriums, alstroemerias, cut orchids and strelitzias to a national clock spanning two locations. Now, after consultation with the FPC rose and rose buyers, the green light was given for roses too.
Royal FloraHolland (RFH) is gradually transitioning to nationwide auctioning of plants and flowers. The main reason for this is that the concentration of supply and demand leads to optimal price formation. Buyers can no longer take a wait-and-see attitude. In addition, growers’ products gain access to a larger buyer audience. Buyers, in turn, can access a greater supply.
