Royal FloraHolland ended 2024 with a positive result. The auction realized a profit of EUR 6 million, exceeding last year's forecast of a break-even result. Over the next 15 years, RFH will be scaling up its investments significantly to between EUR 120 and EUR 130 million a year.
After two years of ending in the red, Royal FloraHolland (RFH) posted a profit of EUR 6 million in 2024, bettering its 2023 result by EUR 23 million. This hefty loss left RFH fully committed to posting black figures again, with both the Members' Council and the Supervisory Board keeping their fingers on the pulse. “Our income has been positively affected by the improved flower price and thus higher commission fees. The higher rates for growers and buyers further boosted revenues in 2024,” said CFO David van Mechelen. RFH also sold EUR 7 million worth of real estate in 2024, including the Pyramide site in Naaldwijk.
Cut flowers were priced 11% higher in 2024 than the year before, while the number of items sold was 2% lower. For plants, prices and the number of items sold were at the same level as in 2023. Product sales through RFH reached EUR 5.3 billion (+5%). This is the second highest sales figure ever, only exceeded in the Covid year, when growers turned over EUR 5.6 billion through RFH.
