In early June, Plants & Flowers Foundation Holland (the new name for Bloemenbureau Holland) will be sending its first invoices to growers and traders bound by the AVV general binding statement (Algemeen Verbindend Verklaring – hereinafter AVV) for the promotion of floriculture. The foundation has an almost complete inventory of those bound by the AVV, but so far, not every company has registered.
Some 18,000 trading companies and nurseries went through the 'funnel' at Plants & Flowers Foundation Holland (PFFH) This selection led to a list of around 8,500 remaining names. As per the AVV, these companies must contribute financially to collective sector communication and the promotion of floricultural products in 2025, 2026 and 2027.
In early June, the first group of growers and traders will receive an initial invoice. More groups will follow in the coming weeks, until all growers and traders bound by the AVV have received an invoice. Whether this will eventually comprise all 8,500 companies remains to be seen. Director Yvonne Watzdorf and interim Finance Director Humphrey Perdaems expect the group actually liable for payment to be somewhat smaller than 8,500, because this number includes 1,500 companies that may not have to contribute to PFFH.
