Raf Rombouts is the owner of a 2.4-hectare greenhouse farm. His main activity is growing amaryllises. He also has a tropical garden for corporate events. In spring, he grow berries too, in a rented greenhouse. In addition, he started growing tea in recent years and grapes even more recently.
Why this combination?
'There is quite a bit of synergy between these various activities. They also enable us to spread the work, which makes it easier to retain staff. We grow amaryllises from August to mid-January.'
