The Euro Plant Tray cooperative was founded last year, aiming to make reusable plant trays the European standard in the greenery sector. According to Board Member Flora Späth, “The trays can be rented from Euro Plant Tray by every party in the chain; it is up to the growers, traders and retailers themselves to make arrangements on this.”
You brought two samples of reusable plant trays, but aren’t they the same?
“Indeed, they are. The members of Euro Plant Tray selected two prototypes in the autumn of 2022. These were tested in real life last spring by putting them through the production chain and asking for experiences. Based on this, a decision was made to further develop the tray for pot sizes 10 to 11, because, in practice, it kept the pots more stable than the other tray. We strive to start using the new tray in early 2024.”
