Carl van Noort emigrated to Canada with his parents, brothers and sister in 1978. “Our grandfather Thijs owned a nursery in Noordwijkerhout and he started exporting bulbs to North America,” he explains. “My father Nard took over the business, and in the 1970s decided to emigrate to Canada with the whole family and expand the business there.”
Carl, along with his brothers Frank and Leo and his sister Conny, represents the third generation in the business. “Meanwhile, the company is owned by six members of the fourth generation, which are Frank's and my children,” he says. “They run the company together with a non-family member who has been with us for a long time.”
